  • Action open and unloaded when not shooting, walking around the park, or moving between stations.
  • Eye and ear protection required for all shooters and spectators.
  • No handling firearms while anyone is downrange.
  • Alcohol or drugs are strictly prohibited before or during shooting.

Shooting Procedures

  • Load only on the station and only when it’s your turn to shoot.
  • Maximum two shells loaded at a time.
  • Gauge limits: shotguns 12-gauge and under only.
  • Shot size restriction: 7.5 or 8.
  • No steel or magnum loads.
  • Follow the scorer’s commands at all times.
  • Target sequence will be shown on the Menu Card.

Game Play

  • Five shooters per squad, one shooter per station at a time.
  • Each station presents a combination of singles, report pairs, and true pairs.
  • Move to the next station when instructed by the scorer until all stations are completed.
Scoring
  • Hit — visible target break.
  • Miss — no visible break or unbroken target.
  • The scorer’s decision is final.

General Rules

  • Do not advance to the shooting stand until the shooter ahead has exited.
  • If a machine malfunctions or a target breaks before being shot, call “No Bird.”
  • Keep the area clean — pick up hulls and trash when finished.
  • Respect others — good sportsmanship is expected at all times.
